Setup and login information for FTP access:
Hostname: www. yourdomainname.com
username: yourusername
password: yourpassword
Once you log in to your site you will see two directories:
"public" is where you place your web files,
"cgi-bin" is where you place CGI programs and scripts if you
wish to use them.
Account Password Change:
To change your web site password, or set up email addresses
for your site use the account
management area and login using your FTP account username
and password.

Account Payment Method
Changes/Updates
There are two ways to pay for your monthly hosting account
fees: cheque and credit card. We accept American Express,
Visa and Mastercard. All customers receive a post-mailed paper
statement/invoice each month. Pre-authorized credit card payments
are processed automatically each month.If you would like to
change the method by which you are paying your monthly fees
or if you would like to provide us with new or updated credit
card information please complete this
secure form.

CGI Scripts
We are slowly adding free CGI scripts for you to install
and use. If you have a CGI script that you would like to
use please don't hesitate to email us and we will help with
the installation. Please be advised that we do not provide
debugging of CGIs not provided by SearchBC.Com.

Change
of Address/Account Contact Info. Instructions
There are three different ways to modify your hosting account
address/contact information:
1. Post mail - you may post mail your change of address/contact
information to us. The following information must be included
in order for us to process your request:
- Date
of your request
-
Your web hosting client I.D. number (find this on any
hosting invoice);
- The
date the changes come into effect;
- Your
complete contact information whether it is changing or
not, including:
- account contact first and last name
- company/organization name
- mailing/billing address information
- email address information
- telephone and fax information (including area code)

3. Fax - you
may fax your change of address/contact information to us.
The following information must be included in order for
us to process your request:

Microsoft
FrontPage Intro. Support
Determine whether your web hosting account has been setup
for Microsoft FrontPage support. If you did not request this
when you ordered your service with us, it is likely that your
account was not setup to support Microsoft FrontPage
extensions. To request Microsoft FrontPage extensions support
for your web hosting account call customer support or email
us. There is no cost for this service.
If your account has been set up for use with Microsoft
FrontPage:
1. After you have created your Web site on your local computer
you need to "publish" your site to your site on our servers.
2. To publish your web site go to the File menu in FrontPage
and select "Publish FrontPage Web".
3. You will see a dialog box asking for the Destination Web
Server location. Enter your web site name, ie. www.yourdomain.com.
Leave "connect using SSL" and the "Name of
Destination FrontPage Web" fields blank.
4.Enter your username and password when asked to do so.
5. It may take a few minutes for files and folders to be transferred
from your computer to your live web site. A dialog box should
appear letting you know when the update of your web site is
completed.

Web Site Statistics
Web site statistics are setup when your web hosting package
account is setup.
You can view the statistics for your site at http://www.yourdomainname.com/stats/
You are able to access your statistics 24/7 and as often as
you like. The statistics are generated from our web server
statistics log and are current to the minute at the time of
accessing.
SearchBC.Com uses The
Webalizer software to provide web site statistics. The
Webalizer is a web server log file analysis program which
produces usage statistics in HTML format for viewing with
a browser. The results are presented in both columnar and
graphical format, which facilitates interpretation. Yearly,
monthly, daily and hourly usage statistics are presented,
along with the ability to display usage by site, URL, referrer,
user agent (browser), search string, entry/exit page, username
and country (some information is only available if supported
and present in the log files being processed).
Statistical Output Produced
The Webalizer produces several reports (html) and graphics
for each month processed. In addition, a summary page is generated
for the current and previous months (up to 12), a history
file is created. The yearly (index) report shows statistics
for a 12 month period, and links to each month. Only 12 months
of data will be stored, the excess will be deleted. The monthly
report has detailed statistics for that month with additional
links to any URL's and referrers found. The various totals
shown are explained below, click on each link to view a description
of the totals or download the
information as a .txt file.

FTP Accounts Setup
If you are on the reseller package, you have the ability set up ftp access for all of your
sub-domains. Your clients can log into their FTP access with the following information:
Hostname: www.theirdomain.ext (ex: www.searchbc.com)
Username: ftp_theirdomain_ext (ex: ftp_searchbc_com)
Password: whatever you choose for them.
Note: Passwords are not actually stored, but
instead a checksum of the password. Because of this, if
your client forgets his/her password, the only way
the password can be recovered is to delete the account,
then re-create it. We are currently searching for an
alternative solution to this.
